Coope­ra­ti­on among the Gene­ral Pro­se­cu­ti­on Offi­ces of the Viseg­rád Four has been of high-importance, con­ti­nu­o­us and smo­oth for many years. At this year's mee­ting held in Brno, the Czech Repub­lic, par­ti­ci­pants adop­ted a Dec­la­ra­ti­on on the fight aga­inst cyberc­ri­me and the cri­mi­nal pro­tec­ti­on of cul­t­u­ral property.

The mee­ting with a long tra­di­ti­on was hos­ted by Brno on 23-24 May 2023, and it was atten­ded by dele­ga­tions led by Slo­vak Pro­se­cu­tor Gene­ral Maroš Žilin­ka, Czech Pro­se­cu­tor Gene­ral Igor Stříž, Polish Pro­se­cu­tor Gene­ral Dari­usz Bars­ki and Hun­ga­ri­an Pro­se­cu­tor Gene­ral Péter Polt Dr.

The topic of the event focu­s­ed on cur­rent chal­len­ges in the fight aga­inst cyberc­ri­me and the pro­tec­ti­on of cul­t­u­ral property thro­ugh cri­mi­nal law.

The Par­ti­es adop­ted a Dec­la­ra­ti­on at the end of the mee­ting, under­li­n­ing their deter­mi­na­ti­on to sup­port app­rop­ria­te legal and tech­ni­cal mea­sures in the fight aga­inst cyberc­ri­me. They also cons­ider it neces­sary to deve­lop furt­her inter­na­ti­o­nal judi­ci­al coope­ra­ti­on in such mat­ters.

The par­ti­ci­pants agreed that it is essen­ti­al to expand the pos­si­bi­li­ti­es for cri­mi­nal law coope­ra­ti­on on the sei­zu­re and the reco­very of cul­t­u­ral property in order to pro­tect it, both wit­hin the Euro­pe­an Union and with other count­ri­es in the world.
