On 27th Sep­tem­ber, Dr. Péter Polt, Pro­se­cu­tor Gene­ral of Hun­gary met Tong Jian­ming, First Deputy Pro­se­cu­tor Gene­ral of the Sup­re­me People’s Proc­ura­tora­te of the People’s Repub­lic of China in his offi­ce.

The Pro­se­cu­tor Gene­ral gave a pre­s­en­ta­ti­on giving an insight into the role, the powers and the cons­ti­tu­ti­o­nal sta­tus of the Pro­se­cu­ti­on Ser­vi­ce in the Hun­ga­ri­an legal sys­tem. He emp­has­i­zed the sig­ni­fi­cance of coope­ra­ti­on with vari­o­us inter­na­ti­o­nal orga­ni­za­tions and bila­te­ral coope­ra­ti­on.

The two par­ti­es dis­cus­sed the pos­si­bi­li­ti­es of furt­her strengt­he­ning the mutu­al rela­tions bet­ween the Pro­se­cu­ti­on Ser­vi­ce of Hun­gary and the People’s Proc­ura­tora­te of the People’s Repub­lic of China, which both of them cons­ider as of para­mount impor­tance.

In this con­text, mak­ing pre­pa­ra­tions for the rene­wal of the coope­ra­ti­on agree­ment bet­ween the pro­se­cu­ti­on ser­vi­ces of the two count­ri­es, sign­ed in 2015, was also a key issue on the meeting’s agen­da.

In addi­ti­on to mee­ting the Pro­se­cu­tor Gene­ral, the First Deputy Pro­se­cu­tor Gene­ral of the Sup­re­me People’s Proc­ura­tora­te of the People’s Repub­lic of China also visi­ted the Nati­o­nal Ins­ti­tu­te of Cri­mi­no­logy, the aca­de­mic rese­arch and train­ing cent­re of the Pro­se­cu­ti­on Ser­vi­ce and the Cent­ral Chief Pro­se­cu­ti­on Offi­ce of Investiga­ti­on of Hun­gary.
